The Unnamed - Pictures from the Somme

A friend of mine, Roger Stoakley has just returned from visiting the Somme battlefields in France. He took some excellent, sweeping photographs of some of the cemetries.

His pictures really capture the sense of loss and they powerfully portray the feeling of vastness of the sacrifice. They are a sweeping statement to a lost generation.
