Tintagel War Memorial, Cornwall.

The Tintagel War Memorial contains the name of one soldier who fought with the Australian Imperial force, Private Herbert Goodman, 28th Battalion, AIF.

Private Herbert Goodman enlisted on 9th September 1915. He was the son of John and Elizabeth J Goodman formerly of Treknow, and had arrived in Australia 5 years earlier at the age of 14.

His occupation on his enlistment is given as a farm-hand.

He embarked from Fremantle, Western Australia, on board HMAT A7 Medic on 18 January 1916


He was killed in Action on 3rd-6th November 1916 at Fleurs, France.

He is buried in Warlencourt British Cemtery (Plot IV, Row C, Grave No. 14), France, aged 20.
